The Queen Bee is well known in Auckland, having been a regular trader to this port since 1868. She is a large, comfortable, and convenient ship for passengers. Her saloon accom- * modation is excellent, and invariably gives great satisfaction. Sho has always made Tery good passages. Indeed, on her last trip to this port, she made the faste*t

vovaoe of tho season, namely, ninety-seven davß from pilot to pilot, thus beating the Countess of Kin tore and other well-known clippers. Captain Williams, her commander, is a geutlemau universally liked and respected, and we have no doubt he will again do his best to make a rapid passage home. About a dozen steerago and sixteen saloon passengers have been booked, the only available space in the ship now being one saloon cabin, and this is sure to be taken up in a day or two. We ought to mention that the vessel will carry a surgeon on tho passage home (Dr. Ni-sbitt), who yesterday arrived from the South. In reference to the many passages made by the Bee, we might state that she has never had a single package ot goods injured. The following cargo is now on bourd the vessel, which will haul off from the wharf in three or four days : —13,075 cases kauri gum, 900 bales flax, 400 bales wool, 50 bales cotton, 130 bales leather, 135 casks tallow, 7 tons b:irk, 40 bags shark bones, 16 bales bagging, 180 tons cobra, 15 casks hide cuttings, 450 cusps preserved meat, 6 cases old copper, and 6 caaes curios Much of the despatch with which the vessel is being loaded is due to the agents, Messrs. L. D- Nuthan and Co. Tauranga.—The Southern Croaa sailed for Opotiki on Monday night, after diecharging her cargo here. .Before she bad time to get. there—ll or 12 hours—the wind changed, and blew strongly from the eastward, rendering a very heavy surf on tho Opotiki bar very probable, from which circumstance it was here concluded-that Captain Sellars would put into Ohiwa, as his custom is when the weather is unfavorable for crossing the Opotiki bar. The harbour of Ohiwa can be entered in all weathers and states of the tide. After tho easterly wind subsided, the weather became very threatening, the glass fell to an extremely low figure, 28 71, and a heavy sea urose outside, aud no surprise was manifested when the Southern Cross did not make her appearance here on Wednesday, as she is only a small boa* and hardly adapted to contend with ocean waves of magnitude.
