August 10. Messrs. C. Arthur and Son held a sale of a first-class shipment of fruit, ex Hero, from Sydney. There was a good attendance, and tho following prices were realised : —Oranges, 8s 4d to 9s 3d per case ; ditto naval, 13s per case ; mandarin, 10£ d to lid per dozen ; apples, 2£d per lb.; pears, 3d to 4Jd per lb. Messrs. C. Arthur and don sold by auction, at their mart to-day, the mine, implements, of the Berkeley Castle Gold Mining Company for £100, the Windsor Castle Gold Mining Company being tho purchasers. August 11. At L. D. Nathan and Co.'s sale tO' day, the attendance was good, but the bidding very dull indeed. August 22. Messrs. Samuel Cochrane and Son sold at their mart, to day, (150 bags of wheat, ex Novelty, from Lyttelton, at from 5s to 6s per bushel. August 21. Mr. George Sibbin held a sale of produce, &e., at his mart, to-dav. There was a good attendance, and fair prices realised. August. 26. Messrs. C. Arthur and Son report having sold to-day :—Fowls, 2s to 3s lOd each ; ducks, 2s 5d to 2s 6d ditto ; turkeys, 4s Gd dittj ; potatoes, 5s to 5s Sd per cwt. ; onions, 2d to 4d per lb.; maize, 4s per bushel; oats, 3s 3d to 3s -li per bushel; bacon, 5d to Sd per lb. ; flour, £13 to £16 per ton ; rice, per lb.; No. 1 Company's sugar, 5Jd per lb.; cheese, 4ii to 5d per lb. August 28. Messrs. Samuel Cochrane and Son held a sale of land, at their mart, to day :—All that piece of laud, part of allotment No. G, section No. 36, situate at Onehunga, with a cottage thereon, for £23 lOs. Also, allotments 11 and 12, of subdivision of 6 and 7, of section 17, suburbs of Aucland, £3 10s ; 40 acres, parish of Karioi, Is Gd per acre ; 1 acre, township of Hamilton West, £2 2s 6d; the island of Te Koroto, containing 23 acres, for £6.

August 29. Messrs. B. Tonks and Co. held a sale of tobacco, cigars, ic., at their mart to-day. The following are the prices :—Tobacco, Bernard's tens, iu bond, lOJcl per lb.; Commonwealth ditto, Hid ; Something Choice, 7d ; Aromatic Twist, Sid ; Nosegay, 10d ; Starlight, ll;jd ; cigars, 38s; ICruses's fluid magnesia, duty paid, 4s 6d to 15s 6d; jujubes, Is 3d per lb. Messrs. H. S. Meyers and Co. held a sale of choice fruits, jams (new season's),' tlour, &e., cargo ex Jane, from Hobart Town, at their stores to-day. There was an excellent attendance, and the following prices were realised : —Apples, winter ripstones, 4i ; pearmains, 4}d to 5d ; stone pippins, 3id ; Norfolk bitl'ens, 4jd ; crabs, 2Ad ; pears, 4id ; Wright's jams, 6s yd ; (lour, £17 10s per ton ; hops, Is 3d per lb.; \\ est ludiau dates, S.Vd per lb. At a sale of vestas, ex Alice, from London, held by .Messrs. j£. and H. Isaacs, at their store, Fort-street, to-day, there was a fair attendance, and prices ranged from 21s to 21s Gd per gross.
