KEROSENE.
At Ihe request of Mr. Hague Smith and Mr. J. Dickey, Mr. Joseph Reilly has tested a sample of "Downer's" kerosene oil, and hns kindly handed us the following cert ilicnlo of result, which we publish for tiio benefit of our readers. We may mention that tho thermometer used by Mr. Reilly is one of 120 ° Fahrenheit, and it is believed by that gentleman that "Downer's" brand would stand over that amount. Mr. Philips, chairman of| the City Board, was preient at the testing. " This is to certify that X, Joseph Reilly, Inspector of Weights and Measures, havo this day tested u sample of Downer's, kerosene oil, in accordance with the terms in schedule of Dungerou« Goods Act, 1860, and have found, after careful liiul and observance of thu thermometer, between 100 nnd degrees, that the same did not ignite at 120lh degree. Did it, ignite at 111.) degrees, it would be considered dangerous, according to the Act. "(Signed) Jgskpii liicii.r.Y. " tliiui; 20, 1870."
