'■ Your obedient Servant, > READER WOOD. TO THE ELECTORS OF THE NORTHERN DIVISION. > /i ENTLEMEN, —I beg leave to offer myL ' self as a CANDIDATE for the honor 1 of representing your Division in the Council of my native province. My interests are identical with yours, and I feel confident that my practical knowledge of your Division, and of its wants and grievances will enable me to render you useful service. If elected, I will do my utmost to secure for the North proper attention from the Provin- ■ eial Government, and a fairer sharo of the . provincial revenue than it Ims hitherto received. I am, Gentlemen, Your obedient Servant, JOHN SIIEEHAN. TO TnE ELECTORS OP THE NORTHERN DIA r ISION. GENTLEMEN, —I have been induced by repeated solicitations from electors resident in almost every part of your district to oiler myself as a Candidate for the Northern Division in the Provincial Council. As my business gives me a considerable personal interest in the opening up and maintenance of good roads in the Northern settlements, I will use everj- legitimate means to secure for your district a fair allocation of the revenue due to you for that purpose. My previous experience as a count ry teacher for some years in this Province will enable me to assist in framing an Education Act more liberal in its provisions and better adapted to your wants than the Act of last, session has proved to be. I ask for your support as ono who is perfectly independent of parties or factions, and who is prepared to advocate to the utmost of his ability the two great wants of the Division —good roads and good schools. I am, Gentlemen, Your obedient Servant, OLIVER MAYS. Nortl Shore, Dec. 3, ISGO. TO THE ELECTORS OP THE NORTHERN DIVISION. GENTLEMEN, —111 compliance with your numerously-signed Requisition, I beg to express my willingness to be NOMINATED as a CANDIDATE for the Northern Division. Yours, &c., A. It. TAYLOR. To John Lamb, Esq., and others signing the Requisition. TO THE ELECTORS OE THE NORTHERN DIVISION. GENTLEMEN, —At the earnest solicitation of a number of the Electors of the District, I have cousentcd to allow myself to be put in nomination, to represent you in the Provincial Council. I beg to refer you to my past actions in tlio Council, as the best evidence of iny fitness for the post I am now seeking at your hands. I am, your obedient servant, JOHN R. NICHOLSON, M.D. TO THE ELECTORS OP THE BAY OP ISLANDS DISTRICT. GENTLEMEN, —In compliance with a requisition signed by a considerable number of the Electors of this District, I have great pleasure in offering myself as CANDIDATE for your Suffrages at the forthcoming election for the Provincial Council. As a country settler, my opinions are that an alteration and amendment in several of the laws bearing immediately on tlie interests of the country districts, is one of the most pressing requirements of the day. I further consider it to be highly desirable that oome very much extended and workable scheme for educating the rising generation in the outlying districts, whether they have Highway Boards iu operation or not, should occupy the early attention of tlio Provincial Council. AVith these views, gentlemen, I can only add t hat if you honor me with your confideuc: by returning me to Council, I shall honestly, and to tlie best of my ability, endeavour to discharge the trust. I am, Gentleman, Your obedient servant, BEN. GOOLSON. Kaio A r all.-y, Nov. IS, ISGO. TO THE ELECTORS OP THE DISTRICT OP FRANKLIN. GENTLEMEN,— I have the honor to inform you that I acccde to your desire, as expressed at the Otahului meeting, and beg to oiler myself as a Candidate for your suffrages at the ensuing election for Members of the Provincial Council. I remain, Gentlemen, Yours obediently, AV. BUCKLAND. Grafton Road, Nov. 30, ISG9. | TO THE ELECTORS OE FRANKLIN. GENTLEMEN,— At a largo and influential meeting of electors held at Tauranga on AVednesduy last, I "was urgently requested to allow myself to be put iu nomi- t nation to represent you in the Provincial Council.
