The Poles to be sawn from the heart of kauri. The Polee to be of the foVowing dimeneione:— Twenty-five (25) and twenty (20) feet long (in proportions hereafter to bo determined), to be eight (8) inohes square at the butt, and six (6) inchee square at the top. The Poles to bo sound, straight, arid free from shakes, knots, and sap. N.B.—jVo Pole tcill be accepted which contains the least sap. The .foles to be delivered in the city of Auckland, at a point to be indicated hereafter. Tenderers are to speoify tbo price per Pole as per sizes given. . ' Each tender to be accompanied by a deposit of, twenty-five (£25) as a guarantee of good faith, which sum will be forfeited by any tenderer should he refuse to take up his tender in. the event of its being aocopted. . Kach tender must include the names bf two sureties for approval, who are willing to. become bond for the due performance of tbe contract, in the event of the tender being accepted, and must be accompanied, by a notification to that effect eigned by the two proposed sureties. Tenders, endorsed " Tenders for the lupply of one thousand (1000) Poles," and addressed " The General Manager, Telegraph Department, Wellington," must be tent in not later than the Ist August next.
