PHRENOLOGY.

To the Editor of the Herauj. Sir, —I observe in your issue of to-day, a letter signed " A Lover of Logic," referring' to tho lecture on Phrenology lately delivered by the Hev. Jumos Hill. It appears, by tho writer's own confession, that he is attempting to criticise a lecture which he never heard, and sneering at argumentation, tho detailed basis of which must, of necessity, have been imperfectly communicated to him. This may be in harmony with the lovo of logic, bat certainly not with its posseseion. As I hear that Mr. Hill'B consent has been obtained to the publication of the lecture, " A Lover of Logic" will now have a fair opportunity of grappling with the facts and arguments employed by the rev. lecturer. Whether it may be in favour of Phrenology, or ngainst it, I happen to know that a phrenologist, of acknowledged preeminence, gavb the logi'al faculty (causality) on the head in question the high number of 21—twenty-two being the highest. I leave "A. Lover of Logic" to draw the inference which he Las himself suggested. Your correspondent states that he will stake (He credit of Phrenology on a single experiment—the examination of one head. Little ns Mr. Hill may believe in Phrenology, I am quite sure he would not reject its theory'owing to the very slender results producible" by an examination of your correspondent's cranium, or be so unreasonable asJ;o stake its credit upon a basis so frail.—Tours, &c.,~ Omega.
