THE ONEHUNGA RESERVES.
To tho Editor of the Hebald. Sin, —I think that the people of this town will have just reason to complain of the Provincial Goverr« ment if His Honor persists in his intention to sell the well-known " Springs." If these are alienated from the settlement, there will be absolutely no water to be had as a matter of right. The valne of the two acres which include the Springs does not at present exceed from £150 to £160, and so small a sum of itself can be of very little use to the Government. But, in a sinitary point of view these Bprings are valuable to the settlers. The question raised at the meeting the other night that these are Imperial Government Keserves is alto one well worthy of being considered, but, even if they were not the Superintenden'ts, in his capacity of guardian of the public health as well os other public interests, should prompt him to allow those Springs to rem* n the property of tho public. I confess for my own part that, the heiious intention of selling those allotments has greatly shaken my confidence in the Government, and if carried into effect, I, for ono, will see a reason why we might have countervailing advantages by being in the hands of the General Government. —I am, &c, Aqua Puba.
