LAUNCHES. There was recently launched from the buildingyard of Mr, Humphrey, ship-builder, Inches, Aberdeen, a clippor ship ot the following dimensions *.— Length, 187 feet ; breadth,' 33 feet; and depth, 19 feet 6 inches. She is 825 tons register, and 936 tons builders' measurement. On taking the water, the vessel was named by Mrs. Captain Philips the Carnaquhcen.. The Carnaqulieen is owned by Messrs. Richard Sonnon and C.0., Aberdeen; Bailie "Wood, Banff; and her commander is Captain Phillips, late of the City of Dunedin. The new vessel is intended for the South Australian trade. On April 5 thero wes launched from the building yard of Messrs. "Walter Hood and Co., of Aberdeen, a beautifully modelled ship of the following dimensions, viz. .—Length, 200 feet; breadth, 34 feet ; dopth of hold, 2CU- feet; registering, 1061 0.M., and 901 N.M. As the vessel slid into the water she was named the Jerusalem by Mrs. Goorge Thompson, jun. She is to be commanded by Capt. Largie, late of the Centurion, and employed as one of the Aberdeen clipper line in the Australian and China "trade.

The Norwood, for Swan river, sailed from Portland on April 18. The St. Vincent, from Adolaide, January the 21st with 61 passengers and a cargo of wool, copper ore, and wool, for London, put in to Plymouth on the evening of April 24> with her cargo on fire. She has been towed into Clovelly Bay Cutwater, grounded on the mud, and filled with water, by a party of seamen fromjthe Ordinary, with government fire-floats. The firo was first discovered on board on Good Friday morning, while the St. Vincent was nearing the English Channel, and fearing the smouldering fire might burst out into flames, 56 of her passengers were transferred to the barque Delta, from Havannah for Falmouth, for orders. — Home News, April 26.
