Sir, —As I know that you tako an interest in oveiytliing tending to improvement in this city, perhaps you can answer tho following questions, or if not answered by yourself, perhaps some of your numerous readers could: Ist. How is tho earth to get dry at this wet season of the year ? 2nd. Is the fine j-andy washings from tho scoria off our streets a good substitute for tho clay ? I have tried this latter, but my experience is against it, as I find that it doi s not absorb suillcientey tho moisture. Your inserting these few remarks -will much obligo S. Auckland, June IS, ISG7.
