NEW BUILDINGS IN QUEEN-STREET.
Notwithstanding the commercial depression temporarily prevailing in this city, it is gratifying to observe the additions that are being made to our public buildings, and the rapid improvement that is taking place in the appearance of Queen-street. Not the least prominent and extensive among the most recent additions may be mentioned those of the Messrs. Vaile and the large auction mart of Mr. Charles Stitclibury, which latter has been erected on the site of what previously was a somewhat unsightly gap, and which adds considerably to the appearance of that part of Queen-street. The building is of the most substantial materials, and contains on the ground floor two commodious shops and a large warehouse, with a convenient entrance 9 feet wide to Queenstreet. These apartments are specially suitable for any business requiring room and accommodation. The two upper storeys consist of six well finished and ventilated rooms suitable for offices. These fine premises, which were completed, we believe, in a fortnight, are now advertised to be let, and from their commanding central situation and eminent suitability for business premises and offices, together with the reasonable rate of rentage, will, no doubt, command immediate tenants. We shall have something to say in a future article in reference to the splendid business premises of the Messrs. Vaile, now rapidly approaching to completioj, and which add so much to the appearance of Wyndham and Queen-streets.
