CUSTOMS' RETURNS.

We have before us the ret urns of the Customs Revenue at the several ports of New Zealand daring the quarter ended the 30th of September, 1865. Notwithstanding the various cooperating causes —■ happily temporary causes only—of depression, this Province keeps its placo purri passu with those whore tho tamo causes of complaint do not operate. Wo give a list of the results upon the ((uarter, as follows : Auckland £43,532 Dunedin 46,GG0 Lyttleton and Christchurch 22,483 llokitika 17,549 Wellington M,06'l Nelson 8,292 liinccargill 6,43G Napier 4,791 New Plymouth -1,560 Tho total revenuo of tlio Colony upon the quarter amounts to £lS0,lf)O. Tho corresponding quarter of 1864 showed a total revenue of £t40,572. Thus there is an increase of revenuo amounting to £39,333. Thus it will be seen that the Anc'dand Customs exceeds that of every province cxcept Dunedin. being inj fact £3500 in excess of Christchurch, Lyttleton, and Hokitiffa lumped together, and more than three timos as much as that of the " scat of Government."
