ENGLISH NEWS.
The Times states it has reason to believe that Sir Henry Hardinge will be appointed Governor General of India.
A correspondent of the Morning Chonicle writes from Dublin, May 2 :—": — " It is now considered next to impossible that the arguments respecting the new trial motion, and arrest of judgement, should the latter be necessary, can be brought to a close before the end of the present term, on Wednesday next, the Bth instant. In that case, the arguments would have to be resumed on the 22nd instant, being the first day of Trinity term. A fortnight exactly elapses between the two terms.
