More Talk of Child Slavery on Dairy Farms. Flip HE Inspector of Education has reji < ported.to the -Wellington Board relative to the sweating of children on certain dairy farms. He instances cases of "slips of girls" who have to go to the tops of hills, to milk cows at ~ sunrise, and again at sunset when they come , home from school. In another case a boy. of ten had to milk six cows, morning and evening. Some children have to milk from five to ten cows each,, ... as well as to take milk to the factory. There is a case of children being kept at this hard labour during a period when they were suffering from whooping cough and could not attend school. One. woman and her two hoys had to milk forty oows, morning and evening. -While this sort of thing goes on, the children of - the dairy districts, can have no chance of proper development, physical or mental. If the labour unions can by any means prevent this sort of thing, here is one matter in which they can do good ' work. ; • -
