Harriers.

The Wellington Harrieis have in course of preparation their annual teams road race, which will take place m September. The event this year promises to eclipse any previous event of the kind held m Wellington. Much interest is already being shown throughout athletic circles. The present holders of the Challenge Shield are the members of the Catholic SToung Men's dub. The local centre of the N.Z.A.A.A. have control of the fixture this year. The Wellington Harriers' team will have in its ranks a number of new men, who have distinguished themselves in the weekly runs during the present season. Mr. C. W. Palmer, the president of the Harriers, has presented the club with a handsome solid silver challenge cup for annual competition. The Palmer Cup Race, which is a sealed handicap event, will be run off for the first time on the 17th August, over the three-mile course at Miramar. It is expected that about thirty entries will be received.
