AUCKLAND SHEEP AT DUNEDIN.
The first show of the Otago Agricultural and Pastoral Society has come off at Dunedin with great success. The Auckland flock maintain their high character, as will \ie seen by the following extracts from the Otago Daily Times: —• The following prizes were taken by Auckland exhibitors:— Pen of 3 Merino rams, 4-tootb : First prize, W. T. Buckland ; second, W. T. Buckland ; third, Win, Degraves and Co. Pen of 3 Merino rams, 2-tootb: First prize, W. T. Buckland; second, Wm. Degraves and Co.; third, Wm. Degraves and Co. Fen of 3 Merino ewes. 6-tooth and upwards; First prize, W. T. Buckland ; second, W. 'l'. Buckland. Pen of 3 Merino ewes, 4-tootb : First prize, W. T. Buckland; second, W. T. Buckland ; third, Edward Lee, Tnieri. Pen of 3 Merino ewes, 2-tootb : First prize, W. T. Buckland ; second, Edward Lee ; third, W. 'l'. Buckland. Best Merino ram exhibited : Chalmers Brothers. Best Merino owe exhibited. W. T. Buckland. There were eighty competitors in sheep; and the distinguished place won by Mr. Buckland’s sheep fully justifies our comments on them when leaving Auckland for the South. The result of Messrs. Driver, Maclean, and Co.’s annual sale of pure stock were equally satisfactory : Mr. >L Rumanian, 26 2-tooth Leicester rams, each £l2. Messrs. Runeiman and Shepherd, 4 2-tooth Leicester rams, each £l2 ]os.; 4 2-tooth Leicester ewes, each £7; 2 Oxford Down rams, £4. R. Graham, 4 Leicester ewes, each £l2 ; 1 do. do., £2O; 8 do. do., 4-tooth, each £ll 55.; 69 do. hoggets, each £7 10s.; 23 do. do., each £8 10s. Robert McLean, 2 Leicester rams, 2-tooth, each, £l4; 1 do., £23; 6 do., each £ 11.
