RESIDENT MAGISTRATE'S COURT— Friday.
Timotht Stephens v. Randall.—The plaintiff in this case was a commercial traveller belonging to Dunedin, and the defendant was master ot the steamship ' Lord Ashley.' The action was brought to recover £45 14s. 9d. for the loss of a portmanteau and the contents thereof, which had been entrusted to defendant's care. After hearing the evidence, the Magistral reserved judgment till this day (Saturday).
