WEEKLY MARITIME RECORD.

We have fexv arrivals since our last weekly report. The Ashburton ship, from Sydney, with 170 head of cattle, and 14 horses ; the Monarch, barque, xvith 42 head from Twofold Bay ;“and the Gladiator, ship, from London, with 150 tons ammunition, general cargo and 18 passengers, on tlie 12th; the Picard, brigantine, xvith a cargo of sundries from Hobarton, on the 13th; the Rarotonga, with fruity limejuice, and oil, and 3 passengers, on the 14th; and the Buonaparte and Killermont, brigantines, from Newcastle, with coals, on the 16th; and the Reserve, barque, from Otago, with horses, drays, &c., 40 passengers. The departures from the port have been the Royal Stuart, ship, for Madras in ballast, the Xanthe, s.s., and the St. Magnus, for Newcastle, on the 12th; the John Vanner, ship, for Newcastle, on the 14th ; the Sex’em, ship, for Sydney, on the 16th; and the Alice Cameron, barque, for Sydney, on the 17th, with wool hides, and 8 passengers. The Ashburton sailed for Sydney, yesterday afternoon. The s.s. Cono, arrived yesterday, from Tauranga. The Reserve, barque, arrived from Otago, yesterday, with horses, &c., and 40 passengers.

The Trieste entered outwards, yesterday, for Newcastle and will sail for that port, on Monday next. The Empress cleared for Point de Guile, yesterday, in ballast. The Monarch, for Sydney, cleared at the Customs, yesterday. TESTIMONIAL TO THE CAPTAIN OF THE SHIP “SCIMITAR/’ The following testimonial has been presented by the cabin passengers of the “ Scimitar” to the captain ; Ship “ Scimitar,” off Auckland, March 11, 1864. To Captain Potts, commanding the “ Scimitar.” Dear Sir, —We, the undersigned cabin passengers in the above ship from England to New Zealand, cannot, on the completion of the voyage, separate without convex ing to vot\ a brief acknowledgement of our sense of the kindness and solicitude for our welfare which xve have experienced from you during its continuance. To a kind Providence, together with your profound knoxvledge of your profession, xve are indebted for the successful termination of our voyage. To Mr. Buchan, Chief, and other officers of the ship under your command, do xve also tender our best thanks for their attention to ns, and of our appreciation of their devotion to their various and important duties. In separating from you and them xve trust that every happiness will attend you, and that on the termination of the present voyage of the “ Scimitar” you xvill all have a happy meeting with those near and dear to you in that laud to xvhich xve have so lately bade farewell.
