Field-Marsha! 1 Sir Douglas Ilaig, in his dispatch, mentions, among others, the following incident, indicating the general nature of the work at Poux. Some New Zealand non-coms., on 24th August, swam (he river, and after reconnoitring for five ami a-half hours, they- found a raft on which they returned. Later, they led a patrol across and surprised a German post, killing the oeeup.uts and reluming in safety.
