The political situation i 3 developing rather interestingly, It is stated on the best authority that a meeting of members of'the Liberal Party is convening for Monday,'when the general attitude of private members will be considered. It is intended that members shall demand of the Government their 1 rights to participate, in the administration- of t he affairs of the country,, and an association of private members j should insist that the Govcrnhieiit should take the members into their confidence and let them know the truth about the war and the country's obligations,
There is hardly any likelihood of six o'clock closing'being conceded by Parliament. The trade is offering as a compromise that the .hotel hours for hotel liars should be from nine to eight, and there are some who forecast a general election as the only solution of the many problems facing the.Govern-' llient.
