RECRUITING IN AUSTRALIA,

A NOTICEABLE IMPROVEMENT. , SYDNEY, July ID. Recruiting in the Commonwealth has decidedly improved. Last week's total of. enlistments was 100!), INVALIDED AND INCAPACITATED SOLDIERS. COMMONWEALTH SCHEME OF REPATRIATION. ' MELBOURNE, July 10. In the Senate, Senator Miller, VicePresident ot the Executive Council, outlined an extensive repatriation scheme, the. main features of which were the provision of a curative workshop attached to the hospital, Government training institutions,, homes for men totally incapacitated, a special allowance of Ids in addition to pensions where the latter are inadequate, the establishment of an' artificial limb, factory under an' American expert who will arrive shortly, a land settlement scheme i involving sixty millions, the provision of (factories, the guaranteeing of markets for the products of small, holdings and industries,, the development of forestry and the Murray .River scheme.' Central organisations wilt be established with local committees composed of private citizens and returned soldiers, acting in an honorary capacity. , THE CANADIAN ELECTIONS. TO BE HELD IN OCTOBER.
