DEATH BY ASPHYXIATION.

Edward Cutteu, who has been Town Clerk nt Temuka 'for nearly :twenty years, was found (lead-in the kitchen of his home on Saturday afternoon, Mrs; Cutten is absent in 'North Canterbury, and deceased had lain down, closed the door; and turned on the gas. He died of asphyxiation. Deceased had been in poor health, and was suffering with his heart and neuralgia;. At the inquest to-day a verdict was 'relumed to the effect that he took his own life, through suffering great pain/
