Received July 15, 5.5 p.m. MELBOURNE, July 14, V.R.O, Steeplechase.—Old Mungindi 1, Caibye 2, Waimni 3. Scratched: Icon. Going in front early, Caibye and Mungindi were the pacemakers in to the straight, several lengths alien! of Yt'nimai. In a nock-and-neck finish Mungindi won by tliree-c|uarters of n length. Waimai, ridden by Rae, was live lengths behind. Time, Grain lO^scc —a record for the race.
