SALVATION ARMY WAR WORK

NORTH OTAGO APPEAL.

A meeting of the executivo of the Salvation Army War ''Fund Appeal was ■held at the Borough Chambers last night, when there were present; Messrs W. Q: Grave (chairman), J. M. ' F«r> rester, J, Mitchell, R. Milligan, C, 11. Swinnrd, R. K. Ireland, and T. L. Ralfe (secretary), An apology for absence was received from Mr J. Eraser.

'Collectors 1 reports were handed in with donations, bringing .receipts, to date to the amount of £l4O 7;s ti.il Reports to hand indicated that active canvassing was proceeding in the country districts by the several patriotic commit-, tees. Arrangements were made for a systematic canvass, and with a view to dosing the appeal at an early date the executive decided to meet weekly instead of fortnightly.
