The following is Mr D, C. Bates' weather summary and forecast:A westerly disturbance lias ruled with lower pressure in the south, but the winds have been stronger in the north. Dull and cloudy conditions have prevailed, with rain in many parts.

Present indications are for strong north-west to south-westerly winds. Weather cold and showery. Barometer unsteady, with rising tendency soon.
