DEPUTATION TO THE HON MR HERMES. (Pm Prom Asioclntlotg A deputation representing the Labour Congress, held last week, interviewed the Hon. W, H. Herries to place before him some resolutions of the congress. Mr Herries in his reply said the National Government was formed for war purposes, and Hint as Parliament had agreed to sink parly differences for the time being tl u -y could not handle controversial matter. A machinery amendment of existing legislation diil not come under thai'ban. ]] c ! agreed that the defects should be amended without delav.
