CHBIBTCHUBCH, April 17, Late on Saturday night the store and post office at Annat was burned to the ground. The building was a twostoreyed structure, containing twelve Toorifty rrtid was occupied by Mr E. Boocock and owned by-Messrs Wilding and Acland. Originally it was an hotel,
Late on Saturday Mr Boocock discovered a lire in a linen press and it was extinguished, He left the house for a time and on returning found it in ; flames. Nothing could be done and nothing was saved. Mr Boocock is a heavy looser, and the telephone and mail mailer was also burned. Xlie building was insured in the London and Lancashire Office for £4OO, and the furniture for £2OO and the stock for £2OO, both in the State' Office.
