; TOKARAHI SCHOOL.' There were no failures in the school, and the inspector's' report was considered the best on record, In closing, your committee .would like to impress upon the parents, the advisability of keeping their children at school regular, so that we may again come out with a double excellent."

The annual meeting of householders was held on Monday, there being eight present. Mr Simpson (Craigneuk), chairman of committee, was voted to tho chair. At the- annual meeting of householders in the Dimti'oon School district, held on Monday night, the following report was submitted by the retiring committee:—

"During the .year your committee held eleven meetings, the attendance being as follows: Messrs J. Poison 11, T, W. Heron 11, J. Rutherford 11, R. Hamilton 10, and, A. Smith 10. The attendance for the year was as follows to June 30, 1916: Number on roll 74, attendance G7; September HO, 72-65; December 31st, 69-03; March 31, 1917, G9-,66.. Average for the:year: Roll 71, ,a,ttendawe; pG., /%,.total receipts for. the year, including balance brought forward. £SO 4s 10(1; expenditure, £3l 10s 9d, leaving a balance of £lB Ms. During the year the scholars gave various sums to the.different patriotic lists, besides gathering,several hundred bottles, which were forwarded to the Bottle ' League in Duncdin. The weekly, Scrip-ture-lessons conducted by the Salvation Army are well attended, and their influence for good well sustained, The thanks of the committee and parents alike are again duo to them for their efforts, Your committeo have pleasure in stating that tho best- of good filing existed between mombern and . staff. The'following. is the annual report of Pnpßkalo School Committee presented to the meeting of householders on Monday night:— ''your committee, in presenting their annual, report for the year 191G, beg to congratulate the householders on the conclusion of 'another vevv successful school year? both-from an educational and financial point.' Again the children , forwent' their prizes. A subscription was taken up, and war certificates were 1 bought, the balance being handed to the, Belgian Fund.
