GLENAVY RIFLE CLUB

ANNUAL MEETING,

The annual meeting of the Glenavy Defence Rille Club was held in the Glenavy School on Thursday eveninglast. There was a fair number of members present. Mr D. 'Williams occupied the chair, and congratulated the club on the success of the past season, and thanked the members for the interest I hey had taken in the club and the manner in which they had all worked together for its welfare. The report and balance-sheet wero read and adopted, and the following officers elected for the ensuing year: President and secretary, D> Williams (re-elected); deputy-president and treasurer. "Tho club haa again concluded another very successful season, havingj becu fortiinato in being able to procure plenty of ammunition, ami also a large number of trophies, for which the competition has been very keen, The cljib lias also bcnii fortunate in arranging for inter-club matches, with the following teams): Waitaki High School 1, "Waihao Dowus 'A, Waimatc 2, Papakaio 2, Oamani 1, National Boscrve 2; total 11, The Glenavy Club had the honour of winning live—a marked improvement on our last year's record (one),

"The thanks of the club are due to the following donors of trophies for competition during the past season, viz.: Messrs U. Williams, T. Tansey, Wylio and Co,, Craig and Co,. 1. Cnthbeitson, 11. "'The Hull (started its season with a membership of 20, seven of whom are now on active service, and carry •with them the best wishes of the club for their future, welfare and safe return.

''The eiub has received its grant of ammunition for the incoming season (27011 rounds), and the targets have been repaired ami are now ready for use, We wish to congratulate members on tho enthusiasm shown during the past season and hope they -will crnleavour to enrol as many new members as possible, ami also obtain trophies for competition during the, coming season.
