EXPEDITING RAILWAY TRAFFIC.
SUCCESSFUL EXPERIMENT. (Per Press Association.) TAIHAPE, August 30. , The trial of a new type of railway engine was made this week between Tailiapc and Taumarunui with highly satisfactory results. More precise tests as to the coal and water consumed and the speed possible for practical purposes arc warranted, and should they prove as satisfactory, n quick run, only stopping at very long intervals, should he possible between Wellington and Auckland.
