AUCKLAND. June 21.
A man named Fleming, deaf and dumb, living with the Maoris near Mangapoi, was lost in the buah between there and Tokatoka. He is believed to have perished owing to the severe weather. A search party found no traces. The City Council have extended the time for the acceptance of the terms of the Council re tho electric tramsyiCeni by an English .syndicate to the end of December. The completion of the work is to be accomplished in 18 months from that date. •Dredger 121 is to ba put in commission for deepening the water for large shipping at Quay street jetty. Tho ailt is to bo taken outside ltongitoto.
