Marguerite Cura Oatigan, a nutse at the hospital, said that Smith told her that her wounds were the result of pure accident. The patient had a craving for opium. Andrew Kennedy and Joseph Jewetc were committed for trial on the charge of murder, Joseph Kennedy and Robert Gawn being discharged from custody.
