Patrick Franklin, a young mini who brought draught horses from Sydney recently, was accidentally killed in Durham street, giving a trial of horses in a cart, whon the horse took cluwiro, jammed him agiiru-fc tho wall of a building, broke hia neck, both anna, and eomo ribu. Sho had an operation performed yesterday afternoon by Dr Wilkina for tho removal of an eyeball under chloroform nil light, and was bikon to hur lodging**. Sho took fainting fits in tho evening. Dr WilkiriN used lomedios, but sho died at nine o'clock. Tho woman was delicately inolinod. Tim vei diet was that tho deceased died from asthenia, and in no degroo ii r om chloroform, and no bl«rno was attachable to anyone. A petition ia being got up in Auckland, promoted chit fly by farmers, to the Legislative Council, asking that body to throw out tho Advances to Settlers Bill. In tho enso against Arthur Honors, for alleged confidence- trick at Now Plymouth, tho Jußtices decidod, after retiring for consultation, to dismit'B tho casa.
