A number of Mr Ilichard Monk's friends nnd supportors prosented him with nu address cxpressivo of esteem and regard for his public and private services us thoir fornii r representative in Parliament, accompanied with a cheque for closo on L3OO. Mr Massoy, M. 11.11., was among those present. Mr Monk, in acknowledging tlio gift, made somo strong remarka on tho Premier and Minister of Education in connection with tho l,vo election for Waitemata. Tho followiiifc! resolution was unanimously cauicd — "That tho Wnitemnta eloctora aß»oii\bled at this nißeting arc of opinion that tho election of Mr Massey is a complete vindication of Mr It. Monk in tho eyes of tho olectors. "
