GISBORNE. June 15.
Tho Validation Court's decree for presentation to Parliament in the VftremaU c.wo is finally arranged with tho c .ccption of the appointment/ of a receiver, which will bo aottled within a few (lays. Judge Barton congratulated tho Bur, natives and people of tho district on tho termination arrived at. As soon as tho decrco was j.rranged roceivors would proceed to deal with tho estate, and make it of valuo to bring in money. Thore wero 2\ years of the mortgago to run, and with skilful management tho natives would be able in that time to pay off tho dobt. To this Mr Carroll and Wi Pero, who wore to bo receivers for the Maoris, had appeared as if they woro ownors in trust, but in roality thoy had boon holploss (o do anything. Now thoy wore independent of o r orybody but the Court, and these two, with anothor, to bo appointed, would tnaimgo tho whole property through tho Court. Their first duty was to pay off tho mortgage. All inchoato and incomplete transactions would probably bo dealt with in a similar manner. This caso showed tho necessity for a Court, and that it should have proper oilicers, not like a Court for morning drunks, for that waa tho way tho Covermnont wanted it carried on. He waa hopeless of convincing tho Ciovcrnmenfc, bub hoped tho country would 800 it.
