OAM ARU PRESBYTERY.

The Oamaru Presbytery met yesterday in Columba Church, and after being constitutecl adjourned to the Manse. Present— Dr Macgregor (moderator), Revs. A. B. Todd, J: Steven, J. A. Will, P. 8 Hay, W. Wright, "W. Nichol, and J. Clarke (minis* ters), Messrs Goodall, Cottrell, and Rom (elder*). The Rev Mr Campbell, formerly of South Dunedin, was associated with the Presbytery. He is going to supply Kurow and liakateramca for attune. The minutes oi the two previous meeting* were read and confirmed. Mr Steven was unanimously appointed clerk of Pr«Bbytery, and accordingly declared that he wouiu faithfully discharge the duties of the office. It was alao resolved that the clark'a salary bo L 6, and the balance of money received from congregations be retained for general Presbytery expenses. A minute from the Committee of Lower Waitaki ancnt value of church site was considered, and the Presbytery certified to the value as stated by the Committee and indicated by the donor of the land. A petition numerously signed was presented from the Pukeuri congregation, requesting permission to use instrumental music in public worship. As there wu substantial unanimity it was resolved t« grant the request. A long conversation took place respecting the appointment of a preacher for Macraes, and the f resbytery left the matter in the hands of Mr Clarke, of Palmerstun, to make arrangements with the Synod's Church Ex* tonsion Committee for the supply. A remit of Synod anent employment of missionaries was read, and deferred till next meeting. Attontion was called to the collection foe Aged and Infirm Ministers' Fund, which should be made in June if not made in May. Notico of motion by Dr Macgregor r« marriage of deceased wife's siscer was deferred till next meeting, and the Presbytery adjourned to meet on August 22nd in SI. Paul's Session Room.
