AKERMAN-CANARIS COMPANY.
This Company gave its third performance in the Public Hall on Saturday night. The entertainment was a very enjoyable one The company is strong in the essential features of a good variety company. Each member is much above the average in his or her particular line, and therefore fach particular item ii worthy of a little more than the ordinary coinmcudation Dr Canada is skilful in legerdemain, Mr Cad/.ow is a capablo tenor singer (he having a flexible and clear voice of great range), Miss Beaumont has a rich and powerful soprano voice (which by a process of inflection pecu- 1 liar to herself she can change to a baritone at will), Miss Pearl Akarman is a skilful contortionist, Mr Billy Akarman provides the mirth with his negro drolleries and witticisms, and Tom Thumb has to be seen to be admired, especially his legi. We aro therefore not wide of tho mark when we say that the Company is one of the beßt of its kind that has visited Oamaru. i By request the Company will appear again this evening, when, in addition to a change of programme, the comedy of " Riley'3 Birthday Party' will be staged.
