The increase of the trade of the Blufl is something extraordinary. For the nine months ending September 30th, the re ceipts show an increase of L 3300 com pared with the corresponding poriod of last year. The Board is now effecting repairs and an extension of the wharf, which will enablo it to cope with the pressure of shipping. The cost will be L6OOO, the whole of which is being provided out of the ordinnry revenue. A young miner, who left Cardrona for Tasmania five weeks ago, was charged here with drunkenness and disorderly conduct. Ho was in i\ shocking condition after his debauch, and was remanded for two diys. It appeared that he took L3OO to Tasmania, and came back with four sovereigns. Defendant asserted that ho only signed the list of patrons, that the signature on tho order was not his, nnd pointed out several differences between the way which the name and addies* were written and his invariable practice. Phintilfs were granted un adjournment on payment of costs, and will produce Metcnlfo, the canvasser. It transpired that 36 numbers of tho work, left on defendant's verandah, wore fished out of a stream in tho vicinity by children.
