CHRISTCHURCH. October 14.
The quarterly communication of tho Masonic drand Lodge of Now /^-nland was hold for the first time in Christohuroh lust ovoning. R.W.G.M. Bro. H. Thompson presided. Officers from the North and South Islands and a large number of visiting brothren were prosent. A considerable amount of routine business was transacted, including consideration of tho proposed Constitution. A vote of sympathy was recorded to Bro. E. T. Gilluu, G.J.W., in the serious illness which prevented his attendance. Tho Christchuroh branch of the Federated Bootmakers' Union mofc to-day and declined to accept tho new statement of prices, in Us present form, issued by the mastors last Siturdty. The branch is agrooablo to meet tho manufacturers in conference on tho matter.
