The Argus, comparing the import* !of New South Wales with those of Victoria, says that the tendency to a decadence of trade in Viotoria is a subject requiring a searching invautigation, for, notwithstanding all that can be said in favor of adding to the wealth of the colony by borrowing, the wide divergence between the imports and exports is not satisfactory. The Miners' Conference has decided to request further information before recognising the Amalgamated Miners' and Laborers' Association established on the west coast of New Zealand. Objection is taken to the inclusion of laborers. The Governor has received a cable message from the Queen congratulating the colonies on the success of tha Federation conference.
