Denver, February 25. At the Westport Coal Company's annual mating the chairman, in hia address, said that th« uptntu were the urn* aa they were last year, whilst the profit had considerably increased, the net profit for the year being 121,528. They had depredated the works by L 8302, paid an interim dividend of 2} per cent, aad now proposed to pay 3}, and carryforward L 7290. The output at Weetport for 1889 was 16,000 tons, an increase of 3000 tons. This, he said, would be farther increased daring the current year, as they were mot likely to be •objected to the keen competition of Newcastle. They had sdpplied a cargo to the Admiralty for the use of the China station, and expected a large trade there as toon as the Government provided sufficient accommodation for loading large steamers. The company's wages aceoant now amounted to LL3OO weekly, while they paid the Government L7OO weekly in royalties, and had besides to pay LlOO for freights.
