RAILWAY EMPLOYEES' INSURANCE BILL. (BY TELEGRAPH.) Wellington, January 30.

About 100 members of the local branch of the Amalgamated Society of Railway Servants of New Zealand met last night to discuss the provisions of the Government Railway Employees' Insurance Bill. Mr Fisher, M.U.R., was in the chair. Several speakers took objection to the form of the ballot paper recently issued with a view to making it optional with employees whether or not the Bill should become law. A resolution was passed condemning the Bill on the grounds that it was not in accord with the wishes and interests of the railway employees. It was also decided to ask the Commissioners to withdraw the Bill, and an influential deputation was appointed to wait on the Commissioners to urge them to remodel the voting papers. A deputation waited on the Railway Commissioners this afternoon, and laid before them the objections of the railway men to the voting papers recently issued regarding the Insurance Bill. The Commissioners made it clear that it was quits optional with each man whether he voted or not, and that they had no idea of resenting the action of any workman opposed their scheme. They saw no objection to either the use of an electoral form of ballot-paper or the sending of the papers direct to tho Commissioners, intteaa of through overseers, but they undertook to consider the matter, and give an answer in the course of a day or two.
