An A'ick'and telegram states that tbe 'Frisco pipers refer to the mysterious S. Louis murder, for which S*. Augine was arrested here on the City of Sydney, on a charge of committing it. The headless body, registered as of C, Arthur Preller, LnnrJoi, was found ia a trunk ia a S\ Louis hotel on the 13th April, when the body of a middle aged man was found doubled up In it. Oa the side of the trunk, and over the head of the corpse, was painted ia large words, "So perish all traitors to a great cause.". The body presented a horrible aspect", and waa in an advanced state of decomposition. The personal effects in the murdered man's trunk indicated that the owner was a gentleman of means and culture. His room-mate was Walter A. Lennox Maxwell, who is accused of the murder. He is an Englishman, and one of the Furnham Maxwells, residing on an estate at Dumella, Irelaud. He had disappeared, and the detectives learned that he loft 'Frisco ia disguise on the steamer pity of Sydney under the name of D' Augine. Preller, the murdered man, belonged to the Plymouth Brethren, was temperate, and of strong religious principles.
