REEFTON. December 10.
Messrs Thornton ami Brown 9, the engineers acting for the Ohristchuroh capi talists and others interested in the railway from ChriMohuroh to the West Coast, arrived at Riefton last night. The results of their exploration are satisfactory beyond the most sanguine expeotations. At the water shed in the middle of the isknd where heavy grades were expected an open valley runs almost level. The three grades selected have never been reported by any Government nnrvny party as practicable. Browne and Thornton are now engaged enquiring into the resources of the district.
