THE THOROUGHBRED ENTIRE HORSE • T> E D O U I N -*-* will travel this season between MAEREWHENUA AND HAMPDEN. BEDOUIN is a daik brown horso, with black points ; frco from all blemish, and has great muscular power. When a 3-year old, Bedouin beat a good field of seven horses, including Watcrwitch, Queen Beo, Kettledrum, and Lady of tho Lake— distance, 1£ milo. Ho also won tho Clutha Ferry Handicap, beating Lady Ellen and four others— distanco 24 miles. Ho ran second to Backbitor for tho Lawronco Town Plato, in 1871 ; and won the Publicans' Purse at Waiwora— distanco, 2 miles. Hiß latest performance was winning tho Cromwell Spring Handicap (distanco, 1£ milo), easily, and ho has also been victorious in many other ovonts. Bedouin is brother to tho well-known colt Saladin, the winner of many big ovonts at all distances, from 1 milo to 3, in good company. Bedouin is by tho well-known horso Tho Colonel, a dark chostnut, 16 hands high, froo from whito ; remarkably handsome, long and powerful. The Colonol, by Cossack, out of Edith, by Emigrant. Cossack, by Sir Hercules, out of Flora M'lvor, by Cap-a-pie ; grand-dam Cornelia, by Grasshoppor, out of Hebe, by Hector, both imported. Sir Horcules was siro of Coronation, Faugh-a-ballagh, Irish Birdcatcher, Warlock, Daniel O'Rourke, Knight of St. Georgo, and Songstress— all Dorby and St. Leper winners in England. His grandson was sire of Stockwell, and grandsiro of Blair Athol, Colleen, St. Albans, Tho Marquis, and Whalebone— embracing tho represontativo of tho purest and most successful racing strain of tho present day. Bedouin's dam, Gunsara, is a dark brown, with black points, impoitcd direct from Arabia by Mr A. Pillans, having been •elected from the purest of tho racing stock in tho country, Gunsara is remarkably h&iulfioino and powerful, 16 hands high, up to almost any weight, and has won many events of 3 and 4 milo distances.
