PRINCE VICTOR is a beautiful, thicksot, stout - hearted, dark - brown stallion, rather under than ovor 16 hands 3 inches, bred by John Henderson, Esq., Parkmanis. Was got by Princo of Wales, tho illustrious stud horso of L. Drow, Esq., Merryton, out of Rosio, a maro belonging to an exceedingly favorable strain of blood ; and is one of tho finest and most perfect mares that over looked through a bridle She gained many first prizes, and at Maryhill won second honors as a brood maro in a competition that was open to all Scotland. Rosio was got by the famous horse Victor, tho winnor of first prizes at Gatohouao of Fleet, Stranraer, Kirkcudbright, and Wigtonshiro, and in 1864 won second prizo at tho Highland Socioty's Show at Stirling, and was afterwards sold to go to Australia. Tho great breeding lines of Princo Victor aro tho fino combinations of the Princo of Wales's blood crossed with that of Victor's, which traco back uninterruptedly to tho Columba Stock of 1835. Rosio's granddam was Jean, tho dam of Disraeli, who, when a 2-yoar-old, won first prizes at tho Highland Society's Show, held at Glasgow in 1875; and as a 3-year-old he won first prizo at tho Glasgow Stallion Spring Show of!B7G. Princo Victor last year could boast of four winners at the different shows. Local and district performances such as these, as also his pedigree — ancestry shining with tho names of tho founders of what is known a^ tho Victor breed — should not fail to attract attention to Princo Victor's claims as a sire Ho is a horso of great substanco and ' power, has many points of great excellence to recommend him as a breedor, qualities which arc inherent in tho Clydesdalo character of tho modern school. Ho has a lar«o sharo of his sire's good qualities, tho full aid perfect imago of that which may bo regarded as a specimen of the genus, and which is virtually extinct in Victoria sinco tho death o! Mr Cox's " exceptionally grand horso, Prince or Wales." There is not too much of him, perhaps, but his make, shape, and blood aro tho surest test of excellence His fine legs, strong and great bono, clean, and flowing with nice hair — tho true badgo of a well-bicd Clydesdale— and if his siro is a landmark of tho ancient state of things, Princo Victor is tho opitomo of tho now, and ono of the most compact and fashionable orses to bo seen.
