DUNEDIN. February 3.

A tender has been accepted for the survey of the Waimea Plains railway. Mr Henderson is the successful tenderer for the survey ; amount, L 219. Marion Johnston, one of the principal witnesses in the Hit-or-Miis sly grog case, and in the charge of perjury arising therefrom against Mrs Reid, was charged at the Police Court this morning with perjury. The further hearing of the case is adjourned to Thursday next. Neil Reid was kicked in the stomaoh hy a horse at South Dnnedin on Friday night, and died on Sunday morning. Tho Rev. A. R. Fitchott preached to large congregations in All Saints Church, yesterday.
