DUNEDIN. February 1.
The vestry of All Saint's, Dunedin, met the Rev. A. R. Fitchett, last night, for the first time, when the rev. gentleman rend his license from the Bishop's Commissary (the Yen. Archdeacon Edwards) to officiate for twelve months within the parish. The Customs duties received at Duped in, for month of January, amount to L 34,390 Is 6d, mnde up as follows :—

Sereral new buildings of a highly imposing character are nenrly completed in this city. The Royal Exchange Hotel, opposite the railway station, will be the tallest building of the kind in Now Zetland. Jones' hotel in Prince* street, just on the eve of completion, has the handsomest front of any building in Dunedin. Near the railway station % whole block of new. structures is going up, including -the Volunteer drillshed, the Daily Times omce, and a substantial though excessively plain suite of warerooms erected by Mr Donald Reid. The condition of Mr Conyers, according to latest accounts, remains unaltered. The negotiations between the evening papers connected with the Associated Press and Router's agent in reference to cablegrams are progressing tinsatisfac- | torily.
