THE HARVESTER KING.
A trial of the above took place on Saturday morning, on the farm of Mr Domaldaoo, near Awamna. The crop to be out was about two acre* of wheat, the ground being pretty level. The machine had just been fitted up from the caso in which it had come from America. The agent, Mr Haaaeli, had endeavored to arrange foe, another maohine, which Jiad been working in the district, to perform the trial, but was unable to do 10, and the consequence was that the trial was not so satisfactory, through several of the parts being rather stiff. The horses engaged for the work were hardly tuitablo, and the driver was rather inexperienced ; but still the work done was very good. The machine, from the' lightness of its draught is capable of getting over a good deal of ground in the course of a day. The mechanical parts are of the simplest construotion, and the sheaf is dropped dear of the maohine without any unnecessary force. Mr Hemming conducted the trial. We understand that several of these machines have been disposed of in this district by the agents, Messrs Hassell and Son. No doubt those desirous of seeing the machine at work under more favorable circumstances, can do so at the farms of Messrs Donaldson and Collis, which are within easy distance of Oam.-iru.
