Wellington, Jan. 5. Arrived — Taiaroa, from Picton and the North. The Tararua, from the South, sailed this forenoon. The Wanaka has sailed for the South, having waited for the Taiaroa, from Auckland, via Napier, with the San Francisco mail. Arrived — Hawea, fr->m the South, and the Claud Hamilton from Nelson. Auckland, Jan. 5. The New Zealand Shipping Company's barque Lebu, Captain Fox, cleared at the Customs to-day, and will sail for London ■with a cargo valued at L 44,535. Hokitika, Jan. 5. The hull and cargo of the Mabel Jane, stranded near Wanganui Bluff, 20 miles sc\ith of Ross, was sold at auction to-day by Messrs Learmonth and Co. The hull fetched L 55, ana the cargo, L 220. Mr Lafontaine was the purchaser It is believed the Waipara will be chartered to take up the cargo, if possible.
