The Customs returns for the past month show the total reseipts at L 151 1; for the corresponding month of 1877 the amount was L96fi Cs Bd. For the quarter ending Due. 31st, the figures stand L 4184 Os Bil, and for the corresponding quarter of 1877, L 3336 4s 3d. The total exports by water for the quarter ending Dec. 31sfc, »re »3 follow : — Flour : United Kingdom, 36 tens; do N.S.W., 40 tons; total, 76 tons, of the value of L 765. Oats, 12,454 bushels, valued at L 2763. Wheat, 74,803 bushels, of the value of L 18.074. Wool, 899,9861b5. of the value of L 50.800. Total value of exports, L 72,402. For the corresponding quarter in 1877, the amount was only L 4466. The difference in the totals is to be accounted for by the difference in the item for wool, very little of which was exported during the last quarter of 1877.
